Why talk about Dynastic Vision?

Is Dynastic Vision passe? What is there to talk about?

To these questions I say; if you do not care what direction you want your family to take, any direction will do. If you want a family capable of creating opportunity and dealing with adversity, think in terms of creating a dynastic vision. Others might call it, a family mission statement, or having a phenomenal family. However, does that go far enough? Some men have strong dynastic instincts, and for such men dynastic vision comes naturally.

However, for most of us this is not the case. A variety of cultural and societal factors cloud our thinking, misdirect us or occupy us in such a manner that we become short sighted.

Jarred Diamond in his book Guns, Germs & Steel, points out at times technology fails to be incorporated or is abandoned. The result is that other societies end up dominating. As an example, Diamond uses Japan abandoning gun making, and China's abandonment of ocean going ships.

It is my opinion, societies that abandon or do not form a modern view of Dynastic Thinking will also be dominated. Today's technology will play a big roll in making this happen. In short, the haves and have nots will be as much about nepotism as it has in the past. Cultures that use technology to preserve family will dominate.
